6th Grade Friday, February 12th at 9:50 - Would you please talk about some stories from the Old Testament and how the stories are not meant to be believed word by word.
7th Grade Tuesday, February 23rd at 8:10 - Would you please talk about Jesus’ life - how old he was at death, the concept of BC and AD, how many years he preached, etc.
8th Grade Tuesday, March 2nd at 1:00 – The 8th grade students will make up questions and I will send them to you by email.

We have been invited to perform the Canadian and American National Anthems at a Lewiston Maniacs game! As of now, the tentative date is Friday, March 5, 2010. I am working with Mr. Yarnevich and Mr. Reed (Director of Broadcasting/Media Relations & Group Sales of the Lewiston Maniacs) to get the details ironed out.
This is a GREAT opportunity for our singers and will be an amazing experience for them!
If your child is able to perform this night, please sign and return the form below after vacation so I can have a head count.

Trinity Family Night Out has been a great success raising over $1000 in just 3 nights. Margarita’s has just been approved to offer Family Nights to non-profits and Trinity Catholic School will be their first one. Although a bit shy of Mardi Gras, Margaritas’s Restaurant on Center Street in Auburn is our March restaurant. On Sunday, March 7th you can eat at Margarita’s anytime between the hours of 11:30 a.m.-10:00 p.m. Be sure to mention Trinity Catholic School and a percent of your food tab will be donated back to Trinity Catholic School. Margarita’s can be fun for the whole family and sometimes will even give the kiddos a sombrero if you ask. Hope you will take advantage of this new addition to our Family Nights Out.

Below is the schedule for this year’s DDD’s.

Each grade level will again manage one DDD this year and the proceeds will be used for the service project, retreat and field trip of that grade level. All of the DDD’s will be $2 but they need not all be jean days. Each grade level is encouraged to be creative. You may consider:
A blue and white Trinity spirit day
A hat day
A sports jersey day
An all green day (3/17 is St. Patrick’s Day)
Hawaiian shirt day
Be sure to run your idea by me first and engage your students to advertise like crazy. DDD earnings last year ranged from just over $400 to nearly $1K so the potential is huge. Room parents and the monthly newsletters can help get the word out too!

Students will write, share, and enter their writing in contests or other avenues for publication.
